Using this website
Short version: read it, quote it, link to it. What we do ask is that our benchmark data stays ours, and that it is not harvested to train AI models.
1. What you are free to do
The texts and figures on this site are here to be read. You may read them, quote them with attribution, and refer to them. A link back is appreciated.
2. Reservation of text and data mining rights
lookINsight B.V. expressly reserves the right of text and data mining in respect of all content on this website, within the meaning of Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and Article 15o of the Dutch Copyright Act.
This reservation applies in particular to collecting content in order to train, fine-tune or otherwise develop artificial intelligence models. It is recorded in machine-readable form in /.well-known/tdmrep.json, in the tdm-reservation HTTP header, and in /robots.txt.
Showing our content in an AI answer with attribution and a link is not covered by this reservation. We want to be findable. What we reserve is the inclusion of this content in a model or a dataset.
3. Database right in the benchmark data
The reference data behind the European Garden Centre Benchmark constitutes a database within the meaning of the Dutch Database Act. It is the result of a substantial investment in obtaining, verifying and presenting data on garden centres across several European countries, built up over a number of years.
lookINsight B.V. is the maker of that database. Extraction or re-utilisation of a substantial part of it is not permitted without our written consent. The same applies to the repeated and systematic extraction of insubstantial parts, whether done by hand, by script or through an AI system.
This right exists independently of copyright and covers the individual figures as well.
4. The benchmark tool
The free tool shows you your own position relative to the market. It is meant for use within your own business. Querying it automatically, or querying it in order to reconstruct the underlying distribution, is not permitted and is limited technically.
5. Liability
The figures are indicative and based on a sample. They are not a substitute for research into a specific location, and no rights can be derived from them.

7. Language and applicable law
This English text is the authoritative version. The Dutch translation is provided for convenience; where the two differ, the English text prevails. Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the competent court in Limburg, the Netherlands.
